Jerry L. Register Seeks Re-election for Bay County School Board District 1

My name is Jerry L. Register, and I am running for re-election as Bay County School Board District 1 representative. Born and raised in Panama City, I attended local schools before pursuing advanced degrees at the University of West Florida and the University of Southern Mississippi. With 17 years of teaching experience, 13 years in administration, and 15 years on the Bay County School Board, I am a lifelong educator. Additionally, I run a painting business called "Painting with Principal Jerry Register."

My wife, Faye, and I were in first grade together at Oakland Terrace Elementary School and both graduated from Bay County High School in 1965 and recently celebrated our 54th wedding anniversary. Faye is also a retired educator, and our two sons, their wives, and three of our four grandchildren all live locally and attended Bay District Schools.

My heart lies with my faith, family, friends, and Bay District Schools. I visit each school every semester to be present and engaged with students, faculty, staff, and administrators. I believe in being approachable and am always willing to help parents with concerns regarding school issues. "KIDS FIRST" is my motto, and I am dedicated to preparing our students for a lifetime of achievement and success.

Being visible pays off by making one more approachable and parents do reach out to me for help with concerns/problems they have regarding school issues. I attend as many extra-curricular activities as time allows.
