Name: Panama City - Historic Clock Rededication Ceremony

Category: Event

Description: The Panama City Mayor and Commissioners invite the public to join them on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 4 p.m. at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and 4th Street as they unveil the newly restored historic downtown clock. The clock, nearly a century old, was first installed in 1926 at the corner of Harrison Avenue and Beach Drive. It was moved in 1957 to Harrison Avenue and 7th Street, where it stood when Hurricane Michael made landfall on October 10, 2018. Citizens who recognized its value partnered with the Bay County Historical Society to salvage the damaged clock, move it to the historical museum, and later convey it to the city. The historic clock has now been refurbished to functionality and original appearance and will be mounted within the intersection of Harrison Avenue and 4th Street. Please join us on Tuesday as we all mark this momentous day in Panama City's history.
