Youngstown Man Arrested

BAY COUNTY, FL - Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford announced the arrest of a Youngstown man wanted on multiple warrants in Bay County.
On May 15, 2024, the Bay County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) Special Investigations division investigators observed Jesse-James Callahan, age 26, walking down Laurie Ave on Panama City Beach. Investigators recognized Callahan and knew he had outstanding warrants for Aggravated Stalking, Intimidating a Witness, and violating the terms of his conditional release. Investigators also knew Callahan was a person or interest in a variety of crimes in the Bayou George area, and as a person involved in the methamphetamine trade.
When Investigators attempted to take Callahan into custody, he fled on foot. During the foot pursuit investigators saw Callahan throw a bag that he was carrying. This bag was later recovered. After a short foot pursuit Callahan was apprehended and taken into custody. Upon inspecting the thrown bag investigators found an amount of methamphetamine and multiple debit and credit cards which did not belong to Callahan.
An investigator from the BCSO Criminal Investigations Division arrived on scene and initiated an investigation into the credit cards. After speaking with Callahan, the investigator determined Callahan had no credible, reasonable explanation as to why he would have credit and debit cards in other people's names.
Callahan was ultimately charged with the above-mentioned warrants, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Evidence, Resisting an Officer Without Violence, and Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification of Another. In addition, three misdemeanor warrants were added to Callahan for Failing to appear on charges of Giving a False Name to Law Enforcement, Domestic Stalking, and Follow/Harass Another.
Callahan was booked into the Bay County Jail and, as of Friday May 17, is still there.
