TO THE CITIZENS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF MEXICO BEACH

I hope this message finds you well and safe. Mexico Beach is at a crossroads. During the past ten months, we have experienced upheaval in our city government and mounting distrust amongst our residents and property owners. There have been unfounded accusations of financial fraud and FEMA misappropriation of funds as well as personal attacks on residents, employees and council members.

This is a difficult time for our community and rather than ignore the issues, I prefer to attack problems head on, openly and honestly. As a member of the council during this trying time, I have worked very hard to bring a rational voice to the table and tried to present common sense solutions and a sound business approach to the business at hand in my effort to rid the meetings of unnecessary drama. I would like to continue serving you all, as the Mayor of MB.

As someone deeply rooted in our town, I share in the journey we've embarked on together, especially in the wake of the devastating hurricane in 2018. Our resilience has been tested, but our collective spirit remains unbroken.

I am reaching out to express my intentions to run for Mayor of our beloved town. This decision is not made lightly but with a profound sense of duty towards the community that has given so much to each of us. The path to recovery and growth is ongoing, and I am committed to steering us forward with determination and care.

Our town is unique, with a rich tapestry of retired individuals who have built their lives here and younger people who are choosing to make this their home. This diversity is our strength, providing a blend of wisdom, innovation, and energy. It is essential that we leverage this to rebuild not just structures, but the very fabric of our community.

The challenges ahead are significant, but so are the opportunities. My focus will be on ensuring that our recovery process includes everyone, addressing the needs of both our longstanding residents and those who have recently joined us. My top priorities will be EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP by supporting others, coaching, and setting an example, MANAGED GROWTH and BALANCED BUDGET. Moreover, I aim to foster a transparent, inclusive governance style that encourages participation and feedback from all corners of our town.

I understand the importance of not just rebuilding, but also enhancing our town to withstand future challenges like Storm water, Sewer and more.

Our efforts must be forward-thinking, ensuring a legacy of safety, prosperity, and community for generations to come.

I am ready to lead, listen, and collaborate with every one of you. Together, we can navigate the complexities of our present while building a hopeful, vibrant future.
