Class Action Filed Against Gilead Sciences Inc over Remdesivir

On September 27th, a class action was filed against the manufacturer, Gilead Sciences, Inc for misleading the public on the effectiveness of Remdesivir.
Remdesivir was used extensively by hospitals to treat patients presenting with Covid-19. The drug was originally developed to treat Hepatitis C. In healthy people, the drug was known to cause raised liver enzymes. In Covid patients, the drug would cause renal (kidney), respiratory failure and other acute symptoms.
In November of 2022 a wrongful death suit was filed in Nevada for a patient that was given Remdesivir in the hospital, after the hospital staff was instructed not to, and died a week later. Since that time more people have come forward with complaints against the emergency use of this drug.
The complaint which represents nearly a hundred thousand plaintiffs was filed by a group of lawyers in cooperation with the non-profit, Former Feds Group Freedom Foundation.
The law suit "alleges violations of consumer protection laws, false advertising, deceptive promotion, negligent misrepresentation, and other charges related to the marketing
and administration thereof." Testimonies of those affected by the drug can be viewed here: https://formerfedsgroup.org/cases and https://chbmp.org/ .
