A Commitment to Safety, Fiscal Responsibility, and a Bright Future - Callaway Commissioner Ward IV Election on April 16

I am writing to request your vote in the upcoming election for Callaway Commissioner Ward IV, scheduled for April 16, 2024. As your current representative, I am committed to being your voice in our city government, a responsibility I take very seriously. As a retired Air Force Veteran, I can devote full time to this honorable position.
Over the past year and eight months, I have worked diligently to maintain our tax levels in the face of high inflation while prioritizing the safety and well-being of our city residents. Our first line of defense is our first responders. We contract Bay County Sheriff’s Department for policing services providing a significant savings on taxes while ensuring robust security, including a modern police force, crime scene investigation, crime lab, dedicated officers, and immediate backup. To further enhance safety in our neighborhoods, we added a full-time deputy to specifically address speeding.
Our commitment to the Callaway Fire Department is evident in our replacement of a worn out fire truck with a state-of-the-art vehicle and the appointment of a new deputy chief. We have just added three additional fire fighters and plans are underway to establish a second fire station and a quick response vehicle as our city grows.
Financially, our city is in a strong position. Thanks to our increased tax base, aggressive pursuit of state and federal grants, and prudent use of taxes, we have built a 25% reserve. This reserve is essential for supporting our growth, addressing emergencies, and ensuring fair wages for our employees. We have also made significant improvements to our parks, streets, and welcomed new businesses, all while supporting the rebuilding of Tyndall AFB.
As a retired Air Force NCO and Officer, I bring a unique perspective and understanding of the needs of our retired citizens and our Air Force community. My commitment to you includes fighting for your issues, striving to maintain or reduce property taxes, supporting our city employees, and ensuring our city remains fiscally sound. I pledge to provide the essential protection and services expected from your city government, while respecting the values of a “Free State of Florida” City.
