Oakland Terrace Park & Playground
PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL - This 28-acre park was the vision of the Oakland Terrace Men’s Club since 1948. If some of those men could see it now, they would be so proud. With Oakland Athletic Building, new tennis and pickleball courts, softball and baseball fields, basketball court, covered picnic tables and an amazing playground, this is a Bay County beauty. 90 softball teams have their team home here so many families appreciate this park.
The athletic center, also called the recreation center, is used for Zumba classes, which are free. Simply search ‘Oakland Terrace Park Zumba classes’.
At the corner of 11th street and Flower Avenue in Panama City, this park is a kids’ delight. There is a bit of a pirate’s theme going on and there is lots of color. A huge, multiple level jungle gym with high and low climbing options and that doesn’t begin to describe how incredibly cool it is. Check out the picture or just go check it out if you have never been there.
There are about 10 swings and 3 baby swings, a ground level merry-go-round surrounded by a padded surface, 2 large pirate ships to climb and slide on, a rope climbing structure and a sliding pipe. Seating for parents and grandparents is scattered around so children can be watched, including some that are covered from the sun.
Restrooms, and drinking fountain are also present along with the bank of picnic tables with colorful surrounds and roofs. This is a great time of year to check out this park.
