34th Season of the Lite Scratch Tour Florida Teed Off at Panama Country Club

LYNN HAVEN, FL - Golf enthusiasts gathered at the Panama Country Club over the weekend for the Lite Scratch Tour, facing challenging weather conditions that tested their skills. Despite the brisk temperatures, participants brought in great scores.

On Saturday, the tournament kicked off with temperatures hovering in the mid-40s, accompanied by a brisk breeze. As players teed off, the weather presented an additional layer of complexity, with a cold breeze and a high of 55 degrees in the afternoon.

Sunday brought a slightly better start, with temperatures again in the mid-40s. However, as the day progressed, the weather turned favorable, providing a still, sunny day with temperatures reaching the mid 60s. Participants took advantage of the improved conditions, showcasing their best performances on the final day of the tournament.

In the highly competitive Open Division, Chase Blaich emerged victorious, finishing with an impressive -3.

The Senior Division witnessed equally fierce competition. Bob Mathers claimed the top spot with a +1,

In the Super Senior Division, Bob Lasko showcased his golfing prowess by finishing at +4.

The Lite Scratch Tour is the Florida Gulf Coast’s original amateur golf tour, established in 1990. All amateur golfers at least 16 years of age are eligible to compete on the tour. The next tournament is February 3-4 at the Capital City Country Club in Tallahassee, FL.
