Bay County: Burn Ban Rescinded

May 11, 2026

Panama City, FL – Bay County has rescinded the burn ban issued on April 7 for the unincorporated areas of the county.
Recent weather conditions have reduced the immediate fire risk that prompted the burn ban under County Ordinance 25-16.
Although the burn ban has been lifted, residents are strongly encouraged to exercise caution when conducting any legal outdoor burning activities and are asked to closely monitor weather conditions, avoid burning on windy days, and ensure that fires are fully extinguished.
Residents are reminded to follow all applicable state and local regulations regarding outdoor burning. The use of charcoal and gas grills for cooking remains permitted.

Bay County Emergency Services also encourages residents to properly dispose of cigarettes and matches and avoid any activity that could unintentionally ignite vegetation or debris.
