March 2 - 6
Read Across America Week
Schools all over the district are celebrating Read Across America Week. From dress up days and celebrity readers to "drop everything and read time," our students will be celebrating the joys of reading.
Thursday, Mar. 5
Breakfast with the Board, 7:00 - 8:00 a.m.
Patronis Elementary School, 7400 Patronis Dr., Panama City Beach
Join us as the team at Chartwells celebrates National School Breakfast Week by feeding the School Board members. The theme this year is "Renaissance," so they'll be kicking off the morning Medieval style!
Friday, Mar. 6
Waller Elementary School Bright Futures Career Day, 8:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Waller Elementary School, 11332 Co. Rd. 388, Youngstown
Community partners will be on campus to share about their careers and paths that led them to success. The hope is to inspire every Wildcat to imagine a future bigger than they ever thought possible.
Friday, Mar. 6
Vera Shamplain Turf Field Ribbon Cutting, 5:00 P.M.
Vera Shamplain Sports Complex, Rutherford High School, 1000 School Ave., Panama City
The new turf field at Vera Shamplain field will officially be open and ready for play after a ribbon cutting ceremony that will take place at the field just prior to the Rutherford Rams taking on the Mosley Dolphins in girls flag football. Members of the Board will be present along with leadership from the BDS District Office and the City of Springfield. After the ribbon cutting, the girls will run on the field, making it the first time student cleats have touched the new field.
