BARTIMAEUS SEES!

March 01, 2026

They all could see that I was blind.

I could not see but I could speak, and shout I did that day,
“O David’s Son, have mercy on a blind man on Your way!”

When Jesus called, I went to Him.  He asked, “What do you want?”
“I want to see!”  “It’s granted thee.”  Then I was jubilant.

I shouted with the triumph throng, with branches, worshiping.
For I knew He was deity.  “Hosanna to the King.”

The jealous Pharisees called out that we were blaspheming.
(To Pharisee, He could not be the promised, coming King.)

While Jesus prayed, they came to Him. He asked, “What do you want?”
“We want to see You on a tree!”  They were so arrogant!

They could not see; though they did speak, they shouted loud that day.
“O ‘King of Jews,’ You we refuse, just get out of our way!”

Now I could see that they were blind.
