BAY COUNTY, FL – The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of 22-year-old Ashton Selemon following an investigation into multiple allegations of sexual battery involving juvenile victims.
On the evening of January 5, 2026, deputies responded to a residence in Southport, Florida, after a juvenile reported that Selemon had touched her inappropriately while she was spending the night at a friend’s home. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division requested the juvenile victim and a witness be brought to the Sheriff’s Office by their parents for formal interviews. During those interviews, both juveniles provided detailed, consistent accounts of the incident. Investigators also obtained additional evidence that further corroborated the victim’s disclosures.
As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Selemon on a charge of Sexual Battery.
A second arrest warrant was later obtained after another juvenile disclosed during a Child Protection Team interview at the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center that she had also been sexually battered by Selemon.
After becoming aware of the allegations and active warrants, Selemon fled Bay County and attempted to evade law enforcement. Investigators later determined he had altered his physical appearance and repainted his vehicle in an effort to avoid detection. He was ultimately tracked to Escambia County.
On the morning of January 13, 2026, Bay County Sheriff’s Office investigators traveled to Escambia County and, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and local law enforcement agencies, located Selemon at a residence in the Bayou Grande Villa subdivision in the Pensacola area. After briefly refusing to exit the residence, Selemon was taken into custody without incident.
Selemon was transported to the Escambia County Jail, where he is being held pending extradition to the Bay County Jail. He is charged with two counts of Sexual Battery, including one count involving a victim under the age of 12.
