Community Event To Honor Legacy Of Dr. Martin Luther King

January 12, 2026

BAY COUNTY, FL – We are excited to announce that several community organizations are bringing back to Panama City a celebration event for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday. For those of you who might remember, before Hurricane Michael, the festival was always held in McKenzie Park. Now thanks to the work of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Rebuild Bay, along with partners of Black Voters Matter, The Omegas, the League of Women Voters and the NAACP, you are invited to this community event to honor Dr. King's legacy.  The event will be held on Monday, January 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the A.D. Harris Learning Center, 819 E. 11th Street.  There will be free food (while supplies last) and gift card giveaways.
