Dive into Adventure: Lifeguard Tryouts Hit Panama City Beach!

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL - Panama City Beach is gearing up for a splashy recruitment drive as it searches for the next wave of guardians for its shores! The call is out for individuals ready to join the prestigious lifeguard team, ensuring the safety of over 18,000 residents and a staggering 5 million beach-loving visitors who flock to the World's Most Beautiful Beaches.
With the Panama City Beach Fire Rescue overseeing a dedicated Beach Safety unit of 10 permanent employees, they're now on the lookout to add up to 15 seasonal lifeguards for the bustling season running from April 1 through September 30, 2024.
At the Panama City Beach Aquatic Center at Frank Brown Park, the tryouts promise an adrenaline-pumping challenge: a 500-meter swim to be completed within a 10-minute timeframe. Aspiring lifeguards, mark your calendars for eight one-hour tryout sessions scheduled throughout January and February, 2024.
Director Daryl Paul, the captain of this aquatic adventure, is eagerly awaiting candidates' emails to secure their spot in this thrilling opportunity. Interested individuals can dive into action by contacting daryl.paul@pcbfl.gov to schedule their shot at making a splash on the team.
The tryout schedule is as follows:
• January 8: 8-9 a.m.
• January 15: 9-10 a.m. (PCB observed holiday, MLK Day, pool opens at 9 a.m.)
• January 22: 8-9 a.m.
• January 29: 8-9 a.m.
• February 5: 8-9 a.m.
• February 12: 8-9 a.m.
• February 19: 9-10 a.m. (PCB observed holiday, President’s Day, pool opens at 9 a.m.)
• February 26: 8-9 a.m.
PCB Fire Rescue Beach Safety operates as a United States Lifesaving Association-accredited agency, diligently following the USLA guidelines and recommendations to ensure top-notch safety measures across the beaches.
