The Panama City Beach Police Department has unveiled a striking addition to its fleet: a 2022 C8 Corvette, now bearing the noble insignia of "Seized for Service." Once entangled in illicit activities, this high-performance vehicle has undergone a transformation, becoming a potent symbol of the law.

This Corvette's journey into law enforcement hands began in April 2023 when officers intercepted the vehicle, evading pursuit from two neighboring law enforcement agencies. Behind the wheel was Alexander Casey, a 25-year-old from Albany, Ga., apprehended and charged with felony transporting illegal narcotics, firearm possession, and fleeing authorities.

The success of this operation owes much to the exceptional skills of K9 Officer Rouge, instrumental in detecting concealed narcotics within the vehicle. Utilizing the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act, the department seized the vehicle.

Emblazoned with the phrase "Seized for Service" and adorned with Panama City Beach Police Department insignias, the Corvette's exterior now transforms the crime car into vehicle of positive influence. It has found a new purpose in the 'Cops and Kids' program, becoming an asset for public relations and community outreach.

By featuring prominently at community events alongside K9 Officer Rouge, this visually striking Corvette aims amplifies the message of responsibility and adherence to the law, particularly among the younger generation. It serves as a reminder that if you want to keep nice things, don’t use them to commit a crime.
