BAY COUNTY, FL - The Bay County Sheriff’s Office has charged 44-year-old Anthony Teti with Manslaughter in connection with a September 2024 overdose death. The charge is the result of a lengthy and detailed investigation conducted by BCSO investigators.

On September 11, 2024, deputies responded to a residence on Oak Court in Panama City after family members found a female deceased in her bedroom. On scene, investigators discovered narcotics. Lab results confirmed the substance was a mixture of fentanyl and xylazine, a combination frequently linked to fatal overdoses.

Investigators also discovered extensive drug-related conversations between the victim and her husband Teti. Investigators also confirmed that the victim had picked up a FedEx package one day before she was found deceased.

Further investigation showed this package was one of approximately eleven packages mailed to the victim from Office Depot/FedEx shipping locations in Jacksonville, all traced back to Teti. These findings established a pattern of Teti repeatedly mailing narcotics to the victim in Bay County.

During an exchange with investigators, Teti admitted the substance he sent was “strong,” and acknowledged personally using the same narcotics.

Investigators interviewed Teti at the Duval County Jail, where he was being held on unrelated fentanyl trafficking charges. Teti denied sending the victim narcotics, though his statements were contradicted by shipping records, digital communications, and evidence found on the victim’s devices.

Based on the totality of the evidence, investigators determined that Teti’s actions directly contributed to the overdose death of his wife and has formally charged him with Manslaughter.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to holding those who distribute deadly narcotics accountable and will continue working tirelessly to combat the trafficking and use of fentanyl in our community.
