CALLAWAY, FL – The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrests of 42-year-old Laura Roof, 35-year-old Travis Carlton, 57-year-old Darla Clark, and 41-year-old Chase Smith in connection with a series of storage unit burglaries in Callaway.
On November 30, 2025, deputies responded to a storage facility on FL-22 in Callaway after reports of multiple units being entered were received. During the investigation, it was discovered that more than 20 units had been burglarized repeatedly over the past three weeks. Stolen property included tools, electronics, antiques, and other valuables.
An extensive investigation—assisted by witness statements, surveillance footage, and cooperation from the business—led investigators to identify the suspects. Search warrants were executed at residences on Cherry Lane and Dogwood Way, where several stolen items were located and recovered.
