Operation Fall Sweep

by Bay County Sheriff’s Office

PANAMA CITY, FL – Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford today announced the successful conclusion of a multi-agency effort designed to target individuals seeking to sexually exploit children online, as well as those seeking to possess, view, or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Operation Fall Sweep has resulted in 14 arrests so far, with additional arrests expected.
From November 5 through November 8, 2025, members of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and BCSO Bay Real Time Operation Center (BAYROC) partnered with the Panama City Beach Police Department, Panama City Police Department, Lynn Haven Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and the United States Marshal Service Regional Caribbean Task Force to conduct Operation Fall Sweep.
During Operation Fall Sweep, one group of investigators conducted follow-up investigations on leads generated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. As a result, they were able to identify and arrest individuals who were viewing or in the possession of child sexual abuse material.
At the same time, investigators specially trained in undercover chat techniques posed as young children on the internet. When contacted, they engaged in conversations with the suspects.
These undercover conversations culminated with the suspects soliciting those they believed to be minors for sex, and traveling to meet those they believed to be minors for sexual activity. Operation Fall Sweep resulted in the arrest of 14 individuals and seizure of over 120 items of digital evidence to be processed. Although the operation has concluded, investigators continue to work to identify additional suspects and additional arrests are expected.
