BCSO
BAY COUNTY, FL - The Bay County Sheriff, Tommy Ford, announced that the Sheriff’s Office has cleared a series of overnight vehicle burglaries in the Brighton Oaks subdivision within 24 hours after identifying and arresting two juvenile males responsible for entering multiple unlocked vehicles and stealing cash and personal items.
On November 6, 2025, an investigator with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office was conducting a neighborhood canvass in Brighton Oaks following several reports of vehicle burglaries that occurred overnight between November 5, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m. and November 6, 2025, at approximately 12:00 a.m. Residents on Silver Spur Road and Pioneer Lane reported that vehicles at the home had been entered and rummaged through, cash was also taken from inside some of the vehicles.
BCSO Investigators obtained residential doorbell/surveillance footage from the neighborhood, which showed two male suspects walking through the area and opening vehicle doors. Through Investigative means, 15-year-old John Martin and 12-year-old Nathan Flores were identified as suspects in the case. During a search of their residence, deputies located clothing consistent with that seen in the surveillance video, assorted personal property, and cash. Both juveniles were interviewed and admitted to burglarizing vehicles in the neighborhood.
They were subsequently released to the Department of Juvenile Justice in accordance with juvenile procedures. The juveniles were charged with multiple counts of Burglary and Theft.
Investigators credit the quick resolution of this case to timely reporting by residents and the availability of home surveillance footage. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that most vehicle burglaries are crimes of opportunity involving unlocked vehicles and urges citizens to remove valuables and lock their vehicles every night.
A healthy Bay County requires great community news.
