VFW District 17 Riders
PANAMA CITY, FL - The VFW District 17 Riders of Florida proudly hosted their third annual Make-A-Wish Run on Saturday, November 1, 2025, continuing a growing tradition of veterans and riders coming together to make dreams come true for children in need. The event, held at VFW Post 8205, 735 South Highway 22A, Parker, Florida 32404, brought together service, community, and compassion under one banner of giving.
This year’s Make-A-Wish Run featured 35 riders who collectively raised an incredible $18,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The ride united VFW Riders District 17, the VFW Auxiliary, VFW Post 8205, and numerous local veteran organizations, all working hand-in-hand with community sponsors and supporters.
The event was powered by an energetic seven-member planning committee from the District 17 Riders, who coordinated months of preparation to ensure every detail came together smoothly. The day included sponsorships, donations, food, music, and good times for a great cause.
Support from the community was overwhelming – five gold sponsors, five silver sponsors, and 14 bronze sponsors stepped up, along with 55 individuals and local businesses that donated items for raffle baskets, making a total of 83 sponsors and donors. The crowd also enjoyed delicious food from the Crepe and Cream Food Truck, which kept spirits high and stomachs full throughout the day.
The VFW District 17 Riders will continue this proud tradition, with future Make-A-Wish Runs scheduled for the first Saturday in November each year – turning miles into miracles, one wish at a time.
