Four Future Soldiers Swear in at Panama City’s City Hall
Friends and family gathered on November 30th, 2023, at the Panama City, City Hall to witness the swearing in of four future soldiers into the delayed entry program of the United States Army. Captain Kesia Blenn, U.S. Army Reserves, performed the swearing in ceremony for Harry Griffin, Carl Copeland, Aiden Turner and Brianna Richards. It was an exciting moment as each person raised their right hand and swore an oath to the U.S. Constitution to begin the next chapter of their lives; their hopes and dreams evident as they repeated the words of their oath of enlistment.
Harry Griffin is still attending Mosley High School. A short conversation with Harry revealed his strong faith in God. He will be joining the Public Affairs branch of the U.S. Army. At Mosley, he is editor of the Quill and Scroll, a national student journalist group. Harry participated in Marine Corp JROTC while at Mosley high. However, his mother is a U.S. Army Veteran, so he decided to join the U.S. Army to follow in her footsteps. Harry intends to use his time in the U.S. Army to help him achieve success in life.
Carl Copeland attends Deane Bozeman High School. He is going into the Information Technology field and is looking forward to the leadership experience he will gain in the U.S. Army. He intends to make it to Sergeant Major, a significant milestone in an army career.
Aiden Turner also attends Mosley High School. He is going to be a Drone Operator in the U.S. Army. He is looking forward to a good work environment and good co-workers.
Brianna Richards, originally from Jamaica, graduated from the University of West Indies with a degree in Psychology. She will become a Dental Specialist, but ultimately would like to become a military psychologist.
The professionalism of these four bright young men and woman is evident, and they are certain to bring honor to the United States Army. Job well done U.S. Army Recruiting Station, Panama City!
