Local Swim School Owner Joins National Board, Earns “Rising Star” Honor

by Shuan Streeter

Panama City, FL — Bitty Bubbles Swim School founder and owner, Brittany Moog, has been elected to a two-year term on the Board of Directors of the United States Swim School Association (USSSA), and was also honored this fall with the association’s Rising Star award during the 2025 USSSA conference.
The USSSA is a national trade and advocacy organization representing over 400 members across 1200+ swim school locations around the country, providing industry standards, training, networking, and resources to advance swim education and aquatic safety. Moog’s election means that one of Bay County’s own now has a voice in shaping national-level policies, programs, and initiatives that influence how swim schools operate nationwide.

A Milestone for Bay County & Panama City
For the local community, Moog’s new role carries notable significance:

  • National presence, local benefit: As a board member, Moog will help guide strategic direction, policy decisions, and advocacy efforts for the USSSA. This opens a two-way channel for best practices, safety innovations, and new programs to come home to the Bay County area.
  • Amplified credibility: Having a local swim school owner on the national board brings prestige and reassurance to area families and institutions that Bitty Bubbles is deeply engaged with leading-edge standards and professional networks.
  • Water safety leadership: Drowning remains one of the leading causes of accidental death for young children, and local swim education is a key defense. In Bay County, swim instruction is already highlighted by Bay District Schools in their water safety resources, which list Bitty Bubbles among local lesson providers. Moog’s national role can further uplift regional efforts in drowning prevention, instructor training, and safety protocols.
  • Local to global perspective: Moog brings firsthand knowledge of the challenges and needs of a coastal, year-round swim school. Her presence on the board ensures that communities like ours are represented when national programs are developed.
Rising Star Award & What That Means
During the USSSA 2025 Fall Conference, Brittany Moog was selected for the Rising Star award – an honor recognizing emerging leaders in the swim-school industry. (While the USSSA website does not detail the full criteria publicly, these awards typically spotlight individuals demonstrating outstanding commitment, innovation, and leadership among newer or growing members.)
The award signals confidence from national peers in Moog’s vision, work ethic, and potential impact on the association and the swim-lesson industry as a whole.
