PANAMA CITY, FL – This October, prepare for a thrilling lineup of eerie entertainment as the Center for the Arts transforms into a hub for Halloween-inspired experiences. From the chilling corridors of The Art of Frankenstein exhibition to the electrifying atmosphere of Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory, and the shadowy streets downtown Panama City on the haunted walking tour, there’s something for every brave soul seeking fright and fascination. The public is invited to kick off the festivities on Friday, October 3rd, at the opening reception for “The Art of Frankenstein” from 5 pm to 7 pm that evening.

Artists from across the Panhandle were invited to submit Frankenstein-related or adjacent works. This exhibition includes all art media, including digital works and photography. The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday, October 3rd from 5 pm to 7 pm, at the Center for the Arts, where visitors can also view set pieces and photography by Nikki Bonnette from previous years of Bay Arts’ haunted immersive experience, Fright Nights. Outside on the lawn will be the Fright Nights Art Market featuring local vendors that evening and Saturday from 4 pm to 8 pm. “The Art of Frankenstein” will be on display through November 1st.

“It’s been inspiring to witness our community’s creativity come alive through our intake for the Art of Frankenstein exhibition,” said Jayson Kretzer, Executive Director of Bay Arts Alliance. “I can’t wait for everyone to experience the twistedly brilliant visions from our local artists.”

Visitors can also embark on a chilling journey through the streets of downtown Panama City, delving into the mysteries of old murders, ghostly hauntings, and historic events that still haunt the buildings today on the Haunted Walking Tour on October 24th and 25th. From friendly spirits to not-so-friendly apparitions, be prepared to have a spine-tingling experience like no other. Don't miss out on this unforgettable adventure into the supernatural! Tickets go on sale October 1 at pccenterforthearts.com/fright-nights

Bay Arts prides itself on creating immersive experiences for the public to enjoy and be inspired by. This year, the team will transform the Higby Gallery into Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory. Visitors will be able to tour the lab, meet the scientist, and encounter his fearsome creation. This experience is free for the public to experience through the month of October.

Also on display along the hallways of the Center for the Arts is a collection of works by Paige Undieme in an exhibition titled Working in the Lab. Paige started Paper Loves Ink in 2005 with intentions of becoming a graphic designer. She later decided to dip a toe into illustration to bring her ideas to life. The pieces featured in Working in the Lab are reminiscent of the vintage styles present in her early work, as well as new mediums and styles never before tested.
The Center for the Arts is open to the public Tuesday – Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, Fridays 10 am to 7 pm.
