Concord Coalition Presents Community Engagement Forum On The Federal Debt And Fiscal Policies

BAY COUNTY, FL – The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Bay County, in conjunction with the Bay County Chamber of Commerce, will host a civic education forum on the federal budget on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Gulf Coast State College, Charles Hilton Technology Center, 3rd floor, from 6 pm to 8 pm.
This program is presented by the Concord Coalition www.concordcoalition.org to educate citizens on federal debt and fiscal policies. The goal is to engage and empower citizens with credible, nonpartisan information about the risks and consequences associated with the growing national debt and unsustainable economic practices. Attendees will participate in Principles & Priorities, a facilitated group exercise in fiscal responsibility. Putting them in the shoes of lawmakers is designed to foster thoughtful discussion and understanding of how challenging it is to make choices and to balance the budget.
This event is the latest in the Bay County LWV’s series of facilitated civic forums, following A House Divided (2018) and Bridging the Divide (2021). Since its founding in 1920, the LWV has been instrumental in raising public awareness of issues that influence the health of our democracy, empowering voters with credible civic information, and energizing participation. The forum is free and open to the public.
RSVP is requested on Facebook at https://bit.ly/3V4YC1b; or through Bay Co League of Women Voters email lwv.baycountyfl@gmail.com; or by calling (850) 319-6422.
