Chance Roney Arrested For Shooting In Callaway

by Bay County Sheriff’s Office

BAY COUNTY, FL – Sheriff Tommy Ford announced the arrest of an Eastpoint man after he fired several shots into another vehicle as they both drove on Pridgen Street in Callaway. No one was injured during the shooting.
On August 30, 2025, the BCSO received multiple 911 calls reporting a reckless driver with a firearm in the area of S. Gay Avenue and Pridgen Street in Callaway. Witnesses at the scene observed the driver of a yellow Charger with black stripes discharge a firearm at a dark colored sedan. The owners of the sedan reported their vehicle was struck by two bullets fired from what they believed was a handgun.
After several interviews deputies learned the occupants of the two vehicles had gotten into an argument which escalated to the point both parties were throwing cups and water bottles at each other’s vehicles while both were driving down Tyndall Parkway. The situation escalated when the yellow charger continued following the sedan when the driver tried to lose them down several side streets. While still driving the Charger, Chance Roney, pulled a .25 caliber handgun and fired several shots towards the victim’s vehicle, with several minors in the vehicle.
Deputies issued a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) for the Charger and it was quickly located and detained at a gas station on Tyndall Parkway.  Roney, age 21, of Eastpoint, is in custody at the Bay County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Shooting into an Occupied Conveyance, and Discharging a Firearm from a Vehicle.
