PANAMA CITY, FL – August 4th, 2025 – Kimi Bader, a 51-year-old athlete residing in Panama City, FL, made her mark at the 2025 National Senior Games in Des Moines, Iowa, where she competed in the inaugural powerlifting event. Bader, the youngest competitor in both the men's and women's divisions, earned the Gold Medal in her age group and weight class, showcasing her remarkable strength and dedication.
The National Senior Games, held every two years for athletes aged 50 and better, introduced powerlifting as a new event for 2025. A total of 73 women and 65 men participated in the competition, with Bader standing out not only for her victory but also for being the youngest competitor overall. "To compete alongside such an inspiring group of athletes from across the country, was truly an honor," Bader said. "Winning the Gold in this inaugural event is something I’ll always remember, and I hope it inspires others to challenge themselves, no matter their age." She adds that she only began competing in powerlifting less than three years ago.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Bader holds the title of America's Fit Ms., a prestigious pageant award that recognizes women who are dedicated to fitness, health, and community service. “Winning this national title has been an incredible experience,” Bader said. “It’s more than just a crown; it’s a platform to show that fitness and wellness are lifelong pursuits, and we can all be role models no matter where we are in life.”
Bader is also the co-founder of Faith Through Fitness, a nonprofit that raises funds and organizes fitness events to support both physical and mental well-being. Through the organization, Bader helps raise money for various causes while hosting fitness events that engage the community in meaningful ways. “Fitness events are a great way to bring the community together, get people moving, and also raise awareness and funds for important causes,” she explained.
In addition to the nonprofit, Bader runs Ambition Barbell Club, a training program designed for women who experience gym anxiety. The club provides a supportive, non-judgmental environment where women can build strength, confidence, and mental resilience. “I created Ambition Barbell Club because I know how it feels to struggle with self-confidence in the gym,” Bader shared. “I wanted to create a place where women can come as they are and be empowered to reach their full potential without feeling intimidated.”
Along with her athletic pursuits and community work, Bader is a proud mother of a son who serves in the U.S. Air Force. His service is a source of deep pride and inspiration, pushing Bader to continue striving for excellence in all areas of her life.
