PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL - Dick's Sporting Goods, a cornerstone of the Panama City Beach community for the past decade, is gearing up for a year of renewed community involvement under the leadership of its new Store Manager, Michael S. McCollum. With a passionate commitment to community service, McCollum has outlined a mission for 2024: to engage actively with the local community through volunteer efforts, emphasizing the importance of giving back.

"I firmly believe in getting involved in the community, volunteering because it's the right thing to do," McCollum stated.

Joining him in this endeavor is Kristyn Whitfield, the Operations Manager, who brings a decade of experience at the Panama City Beach store and an unwavering dedication to the store's success and community involvement.

Dick’s Sporting Goods will celebrate a decade of service in Panama City Beach in March 2024. Alongside its anniversary, the company has been actively supporting local causes through its Sports Matter grant program, designed to aid 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving youth in areas with a poverty rate of 15% or more. Notably, past recipients like Cedar Grove Elementary School and Lucille Moore Elementary have received grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, supporting vital sports programs for the youth in the community.

Details of the grant program, which provides grants of up to $25,000, are available on the Sports Matter website, encouraging eligible organizations to apply and benefit from the support offered by Dick's Sporting Goods. https://www.sportsmatter.org/s/grants-and-sponsorships

Expanding its outreach, the company is also extending its support to adult sports within the area. Interested parties organizing local events can contact the store directly to explore potential sponsorship opportunities, reinforcing the company's commitment to fostering a thriving sports culture across all age groups within the community.

"Our vision is not just to sell sporting goods but to be an integral part of the community'," McCollum affirmed.

With McCollum's leadership and a dedicated team, Dick's Sporting Goods is poised to make 2024 a year of meaningful community involvement!
