Panama City’s United Way Celebrates Roy and Sue Trueman as 2024 VITA Volunteers of the Year

PANAMA CITY, FL - United Way President and CEO Gina Littleton honored Roy and Sue Trueman May 30th as the 2024 Volunteer(s) of the Year. Collectively serving the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program for 17 years, both members of Team Trueman were surprised and excited to be selected from the pool of stellar experience representing VITA Volunteers.
Brendan Wright, "High School Senior and aspiring Finance Major," was also honored for his VITA volunteering though he was unable to attend the May 30th awards ceremony.
Because of the VITA partnering with United Way and the IRS, 2024 returns were prepared in Bay and 5 adjacent counties for 2,560 taxpayers returning to the community $3,300,000 in refunds and saving them collectively $768,000 in tax preparation fees. Thanks to all.
Become a VITA volunteer and receive IRS-based training at the end of the year. Maybe even start a new career.
