DUI Manslaughter Arrest Made In Callaway

CALLAWAY, FL - On the evening of May 9th, 2025, the Bay County Sheriff's Office responded to a vehicle wreck in Callaway. 

The initial crash investigation revealed at approximately 7:30pm, a Black Chevy Malibu was traveling Eastbound in the 4000 block of Hwy 22, approaching Bob Little Rd, when it rear-ended a GMC Yukon. 

The passenger inside the Malibu died as a result of the crash. The three occupants of the GMC were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

The driver of the Malibu, 25-year-old Joan Sebastian Suarez Torres, was arrested and charged with DUI Manslaughter and booked into the Bay County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
