Georgia Man Arrested For Felony Domestic Battery
BAY COUNTY, FL - The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Robert Funderburk. In the early morning hours of May 2nd, 2025, the Bay County Sheriff's Office responded to the Aqua View Motel in reference to a battery on a female. The female victim was visibly distressed, was bloody, and had significant bruising on her face.
The victim stated she was in a verbal argument with her Fiancé, Funderburk. During the argument, Funderburk became increasingly aggressive and struck the victim in the face with a closed fist. Marks on the victim’s neck were also observed consistent with being forcibly grabbed. Other indicators were discovered leading investigators to believe the victim was choked and there was a loss of oxygen to the brain.
Funderburk refused to come out of his room at 6215 Thomas Dr. at their Air BnB and an arrest warrant was quickly obtained. Verbal contact was made and Funderburk eventually gave himself up peacefully without incident. Inside the room, a bloody wrench was discovered, believed to have been used to strike the victim. A towel covered in blood was also present.
The investigation also uncovered Funderburk is an active member of The Outlaws Motorcycle Club and is visiting the area from Georgia. Funderburk was arrested and charged with multiple counts of Felony Domestic Battery. Funderburk was booked into the Bay County Jail.
