Republican Liberty Caucus of Bay County, Florida, Endorses Demetrius Rease for Panama City Commissioner, Ward 4

PANAMA CITY, FL – The Republican Liberty Caucus of Bay County, Florida (RLC Bay) endorses Demetrius Rease for the position of Panama City Commissioner, Ward 4, after reviewing his detailed Candidate Questionnaire, and conducting an interview. Rease, a father of four boys, has been happily married to his wife, Sophelia, for nine years.

Rease intends to consider the needs of the entire city instead of just focusing on the special interests of downtown Panama City. Following President Trump’s lead, he will focus on reducing wasteful spending and thus reduce the burden of taxpayers.

Rease is a conservative with a heart, is highly concerned about the lack of focus on rebuilding and improving our lower income areas and is in favor of strengthening identification requirements proving U. S. citizenship before casting a ballot. He is a clear voice for safeguarding the Constitution as written, stating that he is opposed to Red Flag Laws (Risk Protection Orders); the rights of 18-, 19- and 20-year-old citizens to purchase long guns should be restored; semi-automatic firearms or large-capacity magazines should not be banned; and he would support removing restrictions on law-abiding gun owners carrying a firearm into “Gun-Free Zones” for self-protection.

Rease summarized his decision to run for commissioner, stating that upon moving to Panama City, he became very concerned about local politics, such as seeing the commissioners vote “YES” to destroying the natural beauty of Beach Drive to benefit tourists, not locals, by removing 100-year old trees, and installing an $8 million sidewalk across the street from a perfectly good sidewalk that locals use every day. If it’s good enough for locals, why isn’t it good enough for tourists? Rease is hoping for the election of another sensible commissioner with no special interests to aid in his efforts to reduce wasteful spending.

When notified of the endorsement, Rease responded, “I share the values and ideologies of the Republican Liberty Caucus. I appreciate your endorsement.”
