Panama City Shooting Suspects in Custody

PANAMA CITY, FL - At approximately 4:17pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025, Panama City Police Department Dispatchers began receiving calls about a shooting taking place at the intersection of Hwy 231 & Harrison Ave. Officers in the area immediately located the suspect vehicle, a gray Ram pickup truck attempting to flee the scene. Officers pursued the suspect vehicle North on Hwy 231, while other officers responded to the scene.  The occupants of the suspect vehicle were taken into custody near Hwy 231 & Hwy 77.

Officers who responded to the scene located a red GMC Terrain that had been shot, with two occupants suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers from PCPD, BCSO, and FHP rendered aid to the victims until EMS arrived and transported them both to a local hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, one victim succumbed to their injuries soon after arriving at the hospital. The other victim is in critical condition. Identities of those involved will be withheld at this time, as this is an active investigation, and next of kin
are being notified.

We are grateful to all of the witnesses who came forward with information and evidence in this case. We have also been made aware of video of the incident circulating on social media platforms. Detectives are in possession of the video as evidence. We discourage any further broadcasting of video of a homicide, out of consideration for the victims involved and their families.

There is no ongoing threat to the community stemming from this incident.
