LYNN HAVEN, FL - Wednesday, October 18, 2023, marked a significant day for Lynn Haven and the Bay County area, as the groundbreaking ceremony for "The Bay House" took place. This residential home, to be constructed by Arc of The Bay, represents a milestone in providing housing and support for individuals with disabilities. The event was attended by Pastor Craig, Senior Pastor of Lynn Haven Methodist Church, alongside Ron Sharpe, a church member who also serves as the Director of Arc of The Bay, and several other community members.

The congregation of Lynn Haven Methodist Church had, just last year, taken a compassionate and forward-thinking step by approving a generous donation of approximately one acre of land from their Transmitter Road property. This land would be utilized for the construction of "The Bay House." Their decision to support this project reflects the church's commitment to aiding their partners in ministry and strengthening the community.

As the shovels hit the earth during the groundbreaking ceremony, it was evident that the Lynn Haven community, in partnership with Arc of The Bay, was making strides to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals with disabilities. "The Bay House" is designed to accommodate up to six clients and will serve as a haven for those in need.

Arc of The Bay has a profound and impactful mission: providing unique educational opportunities for adults with disabilities across the eight counties in the Bay County area. They aspire to offer first-class education, facilities, and real-life experiences that empower their clients to become integral members of the community.

Since its inception in 1957, The Arc of the Bay, has been a cornerstone of support and opportunity in Lynn Haven, Florida, for adults with disabilities. The organization's commitment to individualized care and support ensures that every service they offer is tailored to help individuals achieve as much self-sufficiency and independence as possible.

This groundbreaking event symbolizes more than just the construction of a new house; it represents the construction of hope and care in the community. The Lynn Haven Methodist Church's commitment to this initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration between community organizations.

As the project progresses, it will serve as a beacon of compassion, reminding the entire Bay County area of the importance of supporting those with disabilities and ensuring that they have the resources and care they need to thrive.
